Charity: Water

I made a new find this morning and I feel the overwhelming need to share this with as many people as possible. It's called Charity: Water. It is a non-profit organization that travels the world to dig wells for villages who are unable to get their own clean water. This month they are doing a special campaign to help villages in Ethiopia. They are asking people who have September birthdays to ask their friends and family to donate money to the charity instead of giving them presents. If you have a September birthday go to the website, www.charitywater.org or www.borninseptember.org, and you can make your own page in order to spread the word to your friends and family. If you don't have a September birthday, still go to the website and just find a random person's page to donate on. THIS IS IMPORTANT PEOPLE!!! One in six people don't have access to clean water and thousands of people die each day from water related diseases. What a useless way to die. We all have so much we are able to give and more often than not, all we end up giving are excuses as to why we can't make a difference. This is your chance. All you have to do is donate, it's that simple.

A Night Out On The Town

This is our new favorite place to hang out on the weekends. Apparently they have really good nachos with homemade salsa, but I have yet to try them because they are always out. I have been having major Mexican food withdrawals for a while now. Can someone please look into sending me a burrito? It would be much appreciated.

This is Timo...or Tibo...or Tivo...we can't really decide. But he lives a couple buildings away from us in our community and we had just met him earlier that same day. Anna and I were sitting in our little reading nook and she looked out the window and was like "Dang, that's definitely not an Asian." She flung open the window and started asking him about his dog, meanwhile the rest of us had our faces pressed up against the window drooling (the lack of testosterone here has made all of us slightly crazy. We freak out when we see - or smell for that matter - something even remotely attractive). So that night we are sitting at the pub and Anna was talking about our little encounter with the hot foreigner and seriously not five minutes later he walked up to our table and was like "Didn't I talk to you earlier today?" What are the odds.

Walking Street

I love my bubble tea

Can you find my friends? They are there amidst the chaos, I promise.

Clubbing in China in our hot uniforms! Doesn't get any better than this folks.

The floor was not so clean

Ok so I am terrible at this whole blogging business. I really have no excuse for not posting more often because I definitely have the time. The past few weeks we have just been chillin around our apartment and checking out the city...which is sweet! Disco techs, karoke bars and pubs in China are hilarious and such a blast!
We taught a summer camp last week, which went well but was a little bit on the insane side. We teach kids that are anywhere from two to six years old so we are always having to do last minute adjustments to our lessons to cater to the different ages of students we will be teaching that rotation. Things get pretty crazy, but despite the chaos teaching is so fun and the kids are the cutest things I have ever seen. Since our school is just barely opening there are only about 20 kids enrolled right now so at the moment I only have to teach once or twice a week. Sweet! We teach from 8:40 AM to 11:30 AM, have lunch at noon, have Chinese lessons for about an hour and then the rest of the day is ours to do whatever we want. I have plenty of free time to do the many things on my list of things to accomplish while I am here. I have already almost mastered my rubik's cube, done yoga every morning and read half of the Book of Mormon and two novels. We start Chinese classes today so I will be learning the language and studying that a lot. I also bought a guitar yesterday and will be practicing that a lot so I'll be a guitar playin' fool when I get home! So many things to do...and I actually have enough time to do it all. It's awesome.
