Jon and Chloe: Part II

15 days!  I'll be doing their wedding photos as well.  Normally I would be nervous, but you really can't go wrong with such a great looking couple.  Can't wait!

I'd Rather Be On Safari

Just thinking about what I was doing a year ago.  The photo above was taken in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, my favorite of our three destinations during our safari.  I almost cried when we drove down into the crater in the early morning and saw hundreds of wildebeest and zebras grazing in the brisk morning sunrise.  At one point as I was perched on top of my seat with my head sticking out the top of our safari jeep, I remember looking to my right and seeing a group of Maasai herding their goats while just a few hundred yards away a hyena stalked a herd of zebras.  I fell in love with the ugly pumbas (warthogs) and laughed at their playful little families trotting across the grassland.  The elephants, their tough wrinkly skin stretching across their giant limbs as they gently scooped up the grass with their long trunks, took my breath away.  I could have sat in the trees and watched their slow, methodical movements for hours.  We explored this small piece of the world for only a day, but in that short time I discovered the magic of Africa that so many of us hope to experience at least once in our life.  Though it might be hard to find through much of the turmoil that endures on this continent, it really does exist.  I found it, I lived it and I remember what it felt like that day.
It was incredible, really incredible.
